Returns and Performance Guarantee
Triple Point Biologics offers a 30-day performance guarantee on every antibody. If an antibody doesn't perform in a validated application despite reasonable experimental conditions, we replace it or refund.
Triple Point Biologics offers a 30-day performance guarantee on every antibody in the catalog. If an antibody doesn't perform in one of its validated applications — Western blot, IHC, or IF — despite reasonable experimental conditions, we'll replace it or refund. The guarantee is grounded in our confidence that the validation we publish on each product page reflects real-world performance, and that the lot release QC catches problems before shipping. When something does go wrong, we want to know about it.
What's covered
The performance guarantee covers antibodies that fail to produce the expected result in one of their validated applications when used within the recommended dilution range and standard protocols. Examples: no signal on Western blot at any dilution from 1:500 to 1:5000 in a positive-control lysate; no staining on IHC in tissue known to express the target; non-specific bands or stain that don't match the published cross-reactivity profile. The guarantee applies to the antibody itself, not to downstream conclusions drawn from experiments using it.
What's not covered
The guarantee doesn't cover 15 µL trial sizes (see callout above); applications other than WB, IHC, or IF; applications where the published cross-reactivity profile rules out the species or sample type you're testing; problems traceable to sample handling, protocol errors, or non-standard fixation; or antibodies stored outside the recommended conditions (e.g., kept at 4 °C for several months without freezing). It also doesn't cover dissatisfaction with results that match the validation summary on the product page — if the antibody produces the signal it's documented to produce, the guarantee considers it functional.
How to make a claim
Submit a claim within 30 days of receiving the antibody through the contact form. Include: the catalog number and lot number; the application (WB); the sample type and species; the dilution and incubation conditions used; the protocol details (transfer time, blocking buffer, secondary antibody, exposure for WB; antigen retrieval, blocking, incubation for IHC); and ideally a representative image of the result. Our technical staff will review and respond within two business days. Many issues turn out to be protocol or sample-prep problems that can be solved without a return — we'd rather help you get the experiment working than process a refund.
Replacement vs. refund
If the antibody is genuinely failing, the default remedy is replacement from a different production lot, shipped at our expense. If you'd prefer a refund instead, we'll process it to the original payment method within five business days of approval. For replacements, you don't need to return the original vial — we'd rather you destroy it according to your institutional biohazard protocol than ship it back, since used antibody is not re-usable.
The longer guarantee on multi-year projects
For multi-year studies where lot continuity matters, we recommend reserving a single lot at the start and aliquoting from it for the duration. Lot reservations are discussed on a per-project basis and extend the guarantee against lot variation for the reserved supply. Reach out via the contact form if you're planning a long-running project on a specific target.
