| Data Sheet for RP3TIMP2 | |
| Product Name | Rabbit Antibody toTIMP-2 (Tissue Inhibitor of Metalloproteinases 2) Loop #3 |
| Catalog Number | RP3TIMP2 |
| Product size | 100 ug |
| Description | RP3T2 is a Rabbit antibody to the Tissue Inhibitor of Metalloproteinases, TIMP-2, made with a synthetic peptide based on the Human sequence. The P3T2 antibody epitope is located in loop #3 of TIMP-2. The antibody binds to TIMP-2, but does not cross react with the other TIMP family members (TIMP-1, TIMP-3, TIMP-4). The antibody has been peptide-affinity purified, concentrated to 1 mg/ml, with the addition of Sodium Azide as preservative and 50% glycerol as cryoprotectant. |
Use
|
RP3T2 Anti-TIMP-2 works well for Western Blotting applications, and when used against the reduced protein identifies a band at approximately 21 Kd. RP3T2 is designed to have better cross-species reactivity than the RP1T2 epitope. TIMP-2 sequences are well conserved, and RP3T2 recognizes human, rat, mouse, porcine and bovine TIMP-2. TIMP-2 is constitutively produced in low (pg/ml) levels by most cell types in tissue culture. The low protein levels produced often require concentration of cell culture media to visualize the bands by Western Blotting. A recommended starting concentration for Western blots is 1:1000 when using colorimetric substrates such as BCIP/NBT, and 1:5000 for chemiluminescent substrates. Higher concentration of antibody may be needed for non-human samples FOR RESEARCH USE ONLY. NOT FOR USE IN HUMANS. |
| Storage | The undiluted antibody solution is stable for approximately 6 months at 4°C. For longer storage, store at -20°C. The solution is buffered from freezing at -20°C by 50% glycerol, but will freeze at -80°C. Avoid unnecessary freeze-thaw cycles. Diluted antibody can be reused several times if not contaminated; store at 4°C with 0.05% Sodium Azide as preservative. |
