Data Sheet for RP3MMP7
Product Name Rabbit Antibody to MMP-7; Middle of active MMP-7
Catalog Number RP3MMP7
Product size 100 ug
Description RP3MMP7 is a Rabbit antibody to the Matrix Metalloproteinase MMP-7, (Matrilysin, PUMP), made with a synthetic peptide based on the Human sequence. The antibody is directed to a site midway between the aminoterminal end and the zinc site. The antibody binds to MMP-7, but does not cross react with the other MMP family members (MMP1, MMP2, MMP3, etc.). The antibody has been peptide-affinity purified, concentrated to 1mg/ml, with the addition of Sodium Azide and 50% glycerol as preservative.

Use

RP3MMP7-western blot

RP3MMP7 Anti-MMP-7 works well for Western Blotting applications, and when used against the reduced protein identifies bands at about 28 Kd, and 18Kd (the pro-form and active forms). RP3MMP7 binds to native or reduced protein, and has use for immunoprecipitation, immunohistochemistry, and ELISA applications. Matrilysin (MMP-7) does not appear to be produced by most normal quiescent cells, but treatment of many cell types with the phorbol ester TPA stimulates production of MMP-7. Because of the low protein levels produced (pg/mL) concentration of cell culture media is often required to visualize the bands by Western Blotting. A recommended starting concentration for Western blots is 1:1000 when using colorimetric substrates such as BCIP/NBT, and 1:5000 for chemiluminescent substrates. Higher concentration of antibody may be needed for non-human samples.

FOR RESEARCH USE ONLY. NOT FOR USE IN HUMANS.

Storage The undiluted antibody solution is stable for approximately 6 months at 4°C. For longer storage, mix antibody solution with glycerol 1:1 to prevent freezing and store at -20°C. Diluted antibody can be reused several times if not contaminated; store at 4°C with 0.05% Sodium Azide as preservative.
