| Description | RP2MMP20 is a Rabbit antibody to the Matrix Metalloproteinase, Enamelysin, made with a synthetic peptide based on the carboxyterminal end of human MMP-20. The antibody binds to MMP-20, but does not cross react with the other MMP family members (MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-3, MMP-9, etc.). The antibody has been peptide-affinity purified, concentrated to 1 mg/ml, with the addition of Sodium Azide as preservative, and 50% glycerol as stabilizer. |
Use

RP2MMP9 Anti-MMP9 works well for Western Blotting applications, and when used against the reduced protein identifies bands at 92 Kd and 88 Kd (the pro-form and active form). The antibody works best on reduced proteins, but can be used for immunoprecipitation, immunohistochemistry, and ELISA applications. Gelatinase-B is constitutively produced by some tumor cell lines (e.g.: HT1080, HL60, U937) but not by most quiescent cells and tissues. Treatment of cells with the phorbol ester TPA stimulates production of MMP9 in some cell types, but the low protein levels produced (pg/ml) often require concentration of cell culture media to visualize the bands by Western blotting. | Storage | The undiluted antibody solution is stable for approximately 6 months at 4°C. For longer storage, store at -20°C. The solution is buffered from freezing at -20°C by 50% glycerol, but will freeze at -80°C. Avoid unnecessary freeze-thaw cycles. Diluted antibody can be reused several times if not contaminated; store at 4°C with 0.05% Sodium Azide as preservative. |
