Data Sheet for RP1TIMP4
Product Name Rabbit Antibody to TIMP-4 (Tissue Inhibitor of Metalloproteinases-4) Carboxyterminal region
Catalog Number RP1TIMP4
Product size 100 ug
Description RP1T4 is a Rabbit antibody to the Tissue Inhibitor of Metalloproteinases-4, TIMP-4, made with a synthetic peptide based on the carboxyterminal region of the Human sequence. The antibody binds to TIMP-4, but does not cross react with the other TIMP family members (TIMP-1, TIMP-2, TIMP-3). The antibody has been peptide-affinity purified, concentrated to 1 mg/ml, with the addition of Sodium Azide as preservative and 50% glycerol as cryoprotectant.
Use

RP1TIMP4-western blot

RP1T4 Anti-TIMP-4 works well for Western Blotting applications, and when used against the reduced protein identifies bands at 23 and 29 Kd, representing the unglycosylated and glycosylated forms respectively of TIMP-4. TIMP-4 has been reported in heart tissues, and is produced by some fibroblasts in cell culture conditions. Treatment of cells with the phorbol ester TPA stimulates production of TIMP-4 in some cell types, but the low protein levels produced often require concentration of cell culture media to visualize the bands by Western Blotting. A recommended starting concentration for Western blots is 1:1000 when using colorimetric substrates such as BCIP/NBT, and 1:5000 for chemiluminescent substrates. Higher concentration of antibody may be needed for non-human samples.

FOR RESEARCH USE ONLY. NOT FOR USE IN HUMANS.

Storage The undiluted antibody solution is stable for approximately 6 months at 4°C. For longer storage, store at -20°C. The solution is buffered from freezing at -20°C by 50% glycerol, but will freeze at -80°C. Avoid unnecessary freeze-thaw cycles. Diluted antibody can be reused several times if not contaminated; store at 4°C with 0.05% Sodium Azide as preservative.
