Data Sheet for RP1PKARIIB
Product Name Rabbit Antibody to PKA-RIIB (Protein Kinase-A Regulatory Subunit Ib)
Catalog Number RP1PKARIIB
Product size 150 mg
Description RP1PKARIIb is a rabbit antibody to the regulatory subunit IIb of protein kinase-A, made with a synthetic peptide based on the rat sequence. The antibody binds to PKARIIb, but does not cross react with the other PKA regulatory subunits (PKARIa, PKARIIa, PKARIb). The antibody has been peptide-affinity purified, concentrated to 1 mg/ml, with the addition of Sodium Azide as preservative, and 50% glycerol as as cryoprotectant
Use

Protein KinaseA is a critical kinase involved in numerous biological functions. The regulatory subunits of PKA allow a range of modifying agents to influence PKA activity and localization, and are found in different levels in a tissue-specific manner. RP1PKARIIb works well for Western Blotting applications, and when used against the reduced protein identifies bands at 55 kD and 53 kD, as well as activation/breakdown products. The antibody can recognize native or reduced PKARIIb, and has application for immunoprecipitation, immunohistochemistry, cell sorting and ELISA. RP1PKARIIb recognized human, rat, mouse and rabbit PKARIIb. A recommended starting concentration for Western blots is 1:1,000 when using colorometric substrates such as BCIP/NBT, and 1:5,000 for chemiluminescent substrates. Higher concentration of antibody may be needed for non-human samples.

FOR RESEARCH USE ONLY. NOT FOR USE IN HUMANS.

Storage The undiluted antibody solution is stable for approximately 6 months at 4°C. For longer storage, store at -20°C. The solution is buffered from freezing at -20°C by 50% glycerol, but will freeze at -80°C. Avoid unnecessary freeze-thaw cycles. Diluted antibody can be reused several times if not contaminated; store at 4°C with 0.05% Sodium Azide as preservative.
